Lake Cormorant High School Benefit Concert

Had a GREAT time at this years Benefit Concert. The kids were great, the chocolate cake was amazing and the fog was plentiful. The video might be a little bouncy… Makenzie and Tyler were my videographers for the night, but they did a great job. You can hear Makenzie singing on a few shots.

Had an awesome time last night at Hadley’s. Was joined on stage by a few new friends, Richard on harmonica and for “She talk to Angels”, Dennis Williams of local signed band “_______ Poets” (Can’t remember the first name dangit). Dennis if you see this e-mail me so I can correct the name! :)

We have a full band show scheduled there for July 24th. Maybe we’ll get in there sooner.

Gators ROCK the Cause with TLD

Hello everyone. Wanted to let you know about this event.

As many of you know, Lake Cormorant is a fairly new school, and they’re busting at the seams! They currently hold grades 7th – 11th, and they are anxiously anticipating the completion of the new high school. The students would like to open it this upcoming school year with tons of Gator spirit!  With all the budget cuts our Governor issued for education, it will be very difficult for the school to provide the instructional materials,as well as materials needed to create a memorable high school experience for all the students.

Lake Cormorant, like many schools, is full of hard-working, supportive parents and staff that desire the absolute best for their students academically and socially. The responsibility required to provide students with the tools to be successful in life weighs heavily on the teachers and administrators of Lake Cormorant. They take great pride in seeing their students excel. There are many tools that are needed to help these teachers give these kids everything they need to succeed. Unfortunately, not all of these tools can be provided with school allotted funds. So, they are asking for your help, and that’s why we’ve decided to have this year’s event to benefit the school directly.

Gators Rock the Cause
was started by my wife and a co-worker (both Lake Cormorant teachers) last year to help raise money for  a student in need. Last year we raised more than $3,000 for a student with MS. His family was in need of a chair-lift for the family van. The event was a huge success, and those involved exceeded all expectations in their support.

This year we do not have a student to raise money for, as they did not want their name put out there. So we’ve done several outside fund-raisers for them throughout the course of this year. Therefore, this year’s event will go directly to Lake Cormorant High School. There will be food, fun, and games for the whole family. There will also be a LIVE CONCERT by The Living Dayligths
!!!

Doors open at 6:30pm and the show will start at 7pm. Bring all your friends and family out to have a great time, and at the same time, support your local school system.

Tickets are $4 now or $5 at the door. Donations are also accepted.

All checks should be made out to Lake Cormorant Student Council.

TLD at The FedEx Forum (Grizz vs. Bulls)

We had a great time last night playing for a great crowd at the FedEx Forum. Load-in and out really wasn’t that bad. Elmo from Elmo and the Shades provided sound on stage for us and playing the Arena sound system was great.

The Videos

Here are some of our videos from the past year…

Overly Enthusiastic Crowd

We had a great night at The Zoo’s Unplugged Series last night. The food was amazing, the wine was freely flowing (more on that later), and good friends and family were abundant.

We started the night off with Danni Bruns from 98.1 The Max giving us our intro and then played our first set to a packed house. During our first break a gentleman came up and said he had a video production group and would like to produce our demo video. NICE!
The crowd was great, very interactive, and they danced a good bit for a laid back event. There was one exception to the night though… and it’s a great story so I have to tell it. We had a “fan” come up after the show and talk to most of us. Then she told Donnie, “You know you changed the lyrics to my favorite song, Boys of Summer by Don Henley. Why did you do that?”. His reply,”Well, we do a version by a different Artist, the Ataris”. She said, “Well, why did you do that?”. He said, “Because I wanted to”. And she slapped him across the face. Can you believe it? Out of all the Redneck, Biker joint, Beer dives we’ve played over the years (and we love those mind you) and the Singer gets accosted at a nice Wine and Dinner event at the Zoo. Man I wish we had that one video. Such is life, and it goes on. Just one more story to add to the scrap book. Hope you guys have a great weekend and we’ll see you out soon.
